Online Shopping Tips
We do our best to deliver a listing of safe and secure online merchants, however, we cannot guarantee that things will always go smoothly. For this reason, we have put together some tips aimed at making your online shopping experience safer and more rewarding.
What to look for:
- A secure site will contain a padlock icon (
) on the bottom of your browser. Never proceed with your transaction if you do not see the padlock.
- Shipping and postage costs should be displayed before you make a commitment to the purchase.
- Look out for any "hidden" costs, such as extended product warranties or prices associated with gift wrapping.
- Make sure that the merchant includes sufficient contact details (at least phone and email) on the website. Make a note of these details so that you can find them easily when the computer is turned off.
- A replacement or product return policy. If you cannot find one displayed on the site, email the Merchant and request a copy.
Keep in mind:
- Items are not always available in stock. It is the Merchants responsibility to inform you of the wait before you purchase.
- You have the right to contact the Merchant about any queries or problems you might have about a particular product.
- Don't feel pressured into buying anything. The most important things to remember when shopping online are to relax and have fun!
